How You Can Help
Volunteers are the backbone of our equine assisted therapy riding and open doors to opportunity for Walk On participants.
Volunteers work with our staff to build a team that helps care for our horses, prepare the horses for the lesson, and assist the instructor during the lesson (by leading the horse or sidewalking with the rider) as well as a variety of additional barn tasks. Program volunteers commit to a specific lesson or lessons for the duration of the 8 to 14 week session, which allows the same team of horse, rider, instructor, and volunteers to work together to achieve the rider’s goals. Whether you are an enthusiast with many years of horse experience or come with no experience and would like o learn more, join us and share in the miracles that happen at Walk On. All program volunteers must be at least 13 years of age. Learn More

We believe that money should never stop someone who wants to ride at Walk On. Since the beginning of this program in May 2013 we have enabled five participants to ride by providing them with financial assistance. Equine Assisted activities provide benefits that enhance the quality of life. Benefits derive from the interaction with the horse. The gentle rhythmical gait of the horse moves the rider’s body in a manner similar to the human walk. Learn More
