Celebrating the Year of the Horse: Walk On’s 2026 Horse of the Year Competition

At Walk On, our horses are at the heart of everything we do. They are trusted partners, patient teachers, and powerful healers for the riders and families we serve. Each year, our Horse of the Year competition gives our community the chance to celebrate these incredible animals in a fun and meaningful way while supporting the life-changing work that happens at our barn. This year is extra special as we celebrate the Year of the Horse, making our annual competition even more exciting.

The Horse of the Year competition is a friendly and spirited fundraiser where supporters can “vote” for their favorite Walk On horse through donations. Each vote helps raise critical funds that support horse care that keep our horses running strong. Throughout the competition, our horses compete for the title while building awareness about the important role they play in helping participants gain confidence, independence, strength, and emotional connection.

Supporters can join their favorite horse’s team and share that horse’s fundraising profile with friends and family to help rally votes and raise funds. Want to take it a step further? You can even create your own personalized fundraising page, upload photos, share why you love Walk On, and invite others to support your chosen horse in your own voice. It is a fun and meaningful way to spread the word and make an even bigger impact.

This year, the competition comes with an added layer of excitement. Our returning champion, Little, has claimed the Horse of the Year title for the past two years. Will Little continue the winning streak, or will another beloved member of the herd take the crown? Each horse brings their own personality, strengths, and special connection to riders, making the race both unpredictable and fun to follow.
